At no additional cost, we provide you access to our shared secure server which encodes sensitive data, such as credit card information, using the HTTPS protocol. This ensures that your shoppers private information remains private and is protected from the prying eyes of hackers or Internet theives.

While the shared secure server is the right solution for a majority of merchants, some MerchandiZer stores desire more control over the branding and identity of their online venture. In the typical situation, a shopper would browse through your site selecting items and, when they desire to check-out, would be directed from www.yoursite.com to the MerchandiZer shared secure server (such as https://secure.merchandizer.com). An alternative choice would be to get your own decicated secure server so that your shoppers would instead check-out at https://secure.yoursite.com. In this way your shoppers see only your corporate identity throughout the sales experience and are never exposed to MerchandiZer, the company you have chosen for your ECommerce site hosting.

If you decide to choose a dedicated secure server solution, there are a few additional steps to complete. First is the purchase of a security certificate from a company such as VeriSign or GeoTrust. This is a purchase from a third party not directly affiliated with MerchandiZer, however, if you contact our customer support staff we will be glad to discuss your options and help you to make the choice that's right for you. After acquiring your security certificate our network staff will perform the steps necessary to install and configure your dedicated secure server on the equipment at our hosting facility. A one-time setup fee will be applicable as well as a small additional monthly fee for the hosting of your secure server.

Password Protected Access to the MerchandiZer Manager
